Today's rant? HPV.
Now, it's a great idea--the Human papillomavirus is a (seemingly) dangerous thing. It is linked with cancers like heart disease and: "HPV ... infections are a cause of a unique type of oropharyngeal (throat) cancer and are believed to cause 70% of cervical [lower part of the female human reproductive system] cancer ..." The most devastating strains are spread through sexually intercourse.
Right now, this sounds more like an infomercial from Pandora Radio (which is the cause of this post). Here's the big question: WHY THE HE|_|_ IS IT REQUIRED FOR STUDENTS!??!?!?!?!?!
I get that there's a huge problem with premarital sex, sometimes in the younger generation (I don't have a statistic on hand, nor am I going to look for one e^e), but that's not specifically what I'm talking about.
If you looked on my profile page, you know that I go to Trinity Christian Schools, Fairfax. It's a Christian school that won't even let two people of the opposite gender get in the same elevator! It's not even in D.C.—which is REQUIRING it—yet is requiring it. 'The heck?!
It's almost like a majority of adults today are being hypocrites!
